How might patients have access to meaningful end-to-end information flows? (Right Health Info at their time of need) How To Get Government to Support Bottom-Up Innovation? How can we improve communication between patients and health professionals? How can we better communicate with cancer patients about new treatment options that are in the developing phases?

Session 2

How can we maximize clinical-research integration?

  • Information exchange between patients, researchers, health care professionals to provide better evidence-based medicine
How do we get governments to really listen? How do we increase patient awareness towards preventative practices? (Prevention is also a cure!) How do we use social media/IT to engage patients/consumers who are not already using these formats? / How do new technologies break barriers to info? How can aggregated health care data and patterns be captured and made available to patients and families in a meaningful, useful way?? How do we engage patients and public to begin using data and evidence in their conversations on health care, in order to effect change?

How can we better share healthcare innovations? How will we know when Government and providers are really listening? What are the top 10 lessons learned from past mistakes? what are some issues to consider when building and maintaining patient portals with focus on social networking and e-advocacy? How can we get doctors to use social media tools when they won't even talk to patients on the phone? What are the new skills for Health 2.0?

How do we prevent politics from stagnating change / transformation in healthcare? Is the PHR Michael Jackson's Legacy? @ekivemark How do we collect the wisdom of patients? How do we / can we recruit and retain patients, online, especially for clinical trials? (and sharing experiences / knowledge) Can web-based peer support improve drug withdrawal experience? How can we map needs and value propositions across the healthcare industry?

How do we better manage or ensure Propoer patient navigation and the right patient handoffs? How can we facilitate patient self-managed care? How can we best learn from failure of e-health in an open source manner? Can we prove value of consumer self reported data? (Open Questions / discussion ) Hospital Setting Is personalized genomics here to stay? Or are we just at the tip of the iceberg? "Web 3.0" - semantic web, fewer silos, open data
