Session Facilitator(s): Chris Adams (Rochen CEO) and Brad Baker (Joomla Core Team)

Whether your current site is small or large scalability is something that all Joomla users need to be prepared to address. Session Title: Desktop-based tooling for Joomla, J!Explorer, and J!Code : Jam session

Join us to review what is available today, what the future may hold. Let's sketch and design what should be done to provide the best possible desktop-based tools for Joomla.

Session Title: Doing cool stuff with authentication: A look at 1.5 3PD integration options in the user space and corporate integration

Session Facilitator(s): Sam Moffatt (JAuthTools, Joomla Core Team)

Description: In Joomla! 1.0.x, getting authentication to work with external system was 'nasty' but not impossible. In 1.5, the pathway is far smoother with the introduction of custom authentication plugins and user plugins that allow far tighter integration with Joomla! and third party applications. This presentation will cover a sample LDAP powered 1.0.x intranet (~400 users), how 1.5 authentication plugins work and how to build a user plugin to integrate with a third party application.

Session Title: CSS in Joomla

Description: Demo and best practises for developing CSS templates for Joomla.

Session Title: Customizing Joomla Administrator (30 min?)

Session Facilitator(s): Joomla core team member presence requested

Description: This is a common problem I face with my clients. I offer this very versatile content management system for them to "edit and maintain" their own web sites. However, the Joomla Admin backend is anything but customizable to the clients' needs. For example, I would like to see the ability to add / remove icons on the admin home page. Maybe there can be a Frontpage Manager for the backend as well :). This way, we can have different icons on the home page and have the icons available for view depending on the backend user's permission level. Sometimes, especially when it is a small client, they want to know / do just one thing - either add content, or event or product (third party plugin). In this case, it will be helpful for the third party developer to offer an icon that the user could click on on the home page.

Is there a way to know if the session idea has been accepted / rejected? An email maybe?

Session Facilitator(s): Not sure. Just a Suggestion by Dean Villegas
Description: Create a session where Joomla website owners can ask the attendees "what extensions and resources are best for a particular Joomla using website". Maybe the website owner can provide handouts, PowerPoint's, and/or present their website live. Maybe the session time can be divided up by the amount of website owners who want to participate.

For example: I would show my concept site via screen shots. I want to know if I'm using the best digital content shopping cart, best magazine extensions, any extensions that allow easy user uploading and downloading of documents, what company offers the best CNET looking theme, what developer can create something similar to YouTube (but for templates)), and how to allow my authors who submit news, to also have the ability to embed java script in a content page.
