It's Easy! Any Page Can Be A Template

Socialtext makes it simple for you to create and access page templates for frequent needs. Here's how:

  1. Create/Find: Create a new page to use as a template, find an existing page that you want to use as the basis for a template, or use a sample template below.
  2. Copy: In the Tools drop-down (upper right of the page) select Copy Page to Workspace (to copy it to a different workspace; or Duplicate Page within the same workspace). Give your new page a name; it it is helpful to have a strong naming convention, for easy searches and lists.
  3. Tag (optional): You can tag the page "Template", for example, and then use Socialtext's Tag List feature to dynamically track the available templates. This is shown below.

Please copy the template you want using the Duplicate Page option in the Tools menu, or by clicking the Duplicate This Template button at the bottom of any template.

Template: Navigation Focused Home Page For companies wanting to store and retrieve information across two or more dimensions.
Template: Navigation Focused Home Page / Vertical The same as the template above, but in a vertical format.
Template: Change Focused Home Page / Grid Automatically updated information streams from your workspace and the Internet.
Template: Business Unit Focused Home Page Structured by units such as Sales, Finance, HR, etc.
Template: Legal Firm Home Page Organized by practice areas, vertical markets, lawyers, and support staff.

Template: Company Profile Every company you're tracking requires a profile like this.
Template: Department Landing page for a department or business unit.
Template: New Hire Info Absolutely essential information to streamline the on-board process for new employees.
Template: Message Board A button that adds a message to a message board (i.e.: blog).
Template: Personnel List A list of names, departments / roles, contact information.
Template: Product Overview All the key information for a product / SKU.

Template: Project Summary Executive summary of a project's purpose, plan, and progress.
Template: Project Detail A more detailed version of the project report, with links to people responsible for tasks.
