Work in progress, towards adding some structure to the information that's already in this wiki.
Please comment or change the page if you have input! What top-level category would be most useful for you?

Thanks,

Liz Henry

The navigation bar will contain the top-level structure of the wiki.

Using your wiki

Customer stories

Not all implementations of Socialtext are "customers". But the existing page, "success stories", does not get across that these are wikis that use Socialtext. This is for stories that explain a specific example of Socialtext wikis in use. Use cases and case studies can all be listed from this page.

Best practices

Pathways and patterns that work well. Ways of using your wiki. Suggestions of good things to do, abstracted and generalized.

Tutorials

How-tos, screencasts, demos, and walkthroughs will be listed here.

Let's talk

Questions

FAQs, problems, questions and answers, discussions, all might fall under this category. Links to technical requirements for installing and using Socialtext, pages with administrator and user questions. This page should make it very clear how and where to ask questions, and where they are answered.

Ideas

The ideas page is a good place to start if you're wishing for a particular feature. Ideas, great weird ideas, feature requests, new feature announcements or explanations, and that sort of thing can be linked from this page. Discussions, questions, and ideas all go together and might overlap. Might they be linked to from one top level category?

Blogs

Another place discussions and personal musings might happen. Collect current blogs by hand. Find them by consulting the list of all tags. List other Socialtext blogs. We might put an RSS feed of external blogs that talk about Socialtext or a link to a Technorati search. Test blogs can also be linked from here.

Resources

Help

Provides another link to help pages.

Report a bug

Give a link to a way to report a bug. Is our bug tracking db open to the public? Do we report bugs here on this wiki?

To make clear: the difference between a bug report and a feature request or wishlist.

Support

How to contact support. Information about the levels of support available for paying customers. Links to the open source site and the Socialtext user mailing list, for everyone.

About this wiki

People

People who use this wiki. Also, people who are mentioned in this wiki.

Companies

This could be a tag or it might merit its own top-level page on the wiki. Not sure yet. Exploring the idea.

Wiki structure

The structure page outlines the main hierarchy of pages on this wiki and what they're for. It's also a place to link up the tagsonomy, gardening information, metrics, and meta-discussions about this wiki itself and the ways people are using it.

Tagsonomy

The tagging structures for this wiki are outlined in its tagsonomy. This provides a core list of suggested tags that may be useful.

There is a lot of good information starting in Feature Groups that needs to be factored in and linked up. (Thanks Sam!)
