Socialtext supports the widget standard used in the iGoogle personal page. This means that you can use a wealth of widgets that are available on the internet. Socialtext has built in access to a number of handy widgets. And you will soon be able to add your favorite widgets, or even make your own.
The ADD CONTENT button allows you to add useful widgets to your homepage. Shown below are the widgets created outside Socialtext.
If you have an account with Twitter, you can apply this widget to get your twitter messages right on your homepage. If you log out of Socialtext without logging out from Twitter via the widget it will remain ready for you the next time you log in and visit "Home". Likewise, if you delete the widget from your dashboard without logging out Twitter, the next time you add the widget to your dashboard it will be ready to go.
If you don not have an account with Twitter there is a link on this widget that will pop up a new browser window to lead you through the process. For more information on this widgit, visit: http://www.widgetslab.com/2008/05/12/betwittered-a-great-igoogle-twitter-gadget/
