Greetings.

I am the program manager for the CSU Community of Academic Technology Staff, aka CATS. This community was created in 1998, and began with a face-to-face conference. We recently completed our 10th anniversary conference. Other programs have been added, such as a small grants program for multi-person/multi-campus strategic projects. We have an active listserv which members use to support one another's work (Q&A, best practices, notification of resources and events, etc.) The website was recently revised and more interactive features will be added soon; it's a work in progress. An attempt to create discipline specific communities of practice failed, in very large part to the increasing workload that members face on their campuses. We are at a point where few people have the permission and bandwidth to be active participants re any program save the listserv. It's not easy managing a volunteer community, and I look forward to getting ideas from all of you.
