I started getting interested in wikis (among other social media) in the early 2000s, and have been a Wikipedian on and off since 2003.
I work for a Software-as-a-Service business, Woking-based BIW Technologies, managing all aspects of corporate communications, a job that has seen me write a book on SaaS tools in the construction industry (my 'home' industry), start internal intranet, wiki and blog projects (based on SharePoint - which I loathe!) and external blogs, including ExtranetEvolution.com and SaaStainability.com.
More recently, I have been using various social networks tools, from Ning to Facebook, Twitter to Pownce, deploying RSS, using Skype and taking my first tentative steps (flights, teleports) in Second Life.
I co-organised a not-for-profit, Web 2.0-oriented one-day event aimed at people working in the architecture, engineering, construction and property fields. Be2camp 2008 took place at the Building Centre in London on 10 October - and more may follow!
