Anybody interested in maybe doing one in November?
- Simon Koldyk simonk AT scribblewiki.com
Past Wiki Wednesdays in Vancouver:
March 7th, 2007
- Wikithon 9am to 7:30pm
- 7:30pm - Wiki Wednesday Presentations
Location
Luke would like to hack during the day with anyone else interested in hacking on wiki stuff. We'd need a location with internet.
For the evening meetup, the Wikid Cafe was suggested as a possible place (7th and Hemlock?)
- We'll have to see if this place is suitable given the number of attendees
Presentations
We can start off the 7:30 meetup with some demos of cool things hacked on during the wikithon. It would be cool if we could patch in the Palo Alto folks, and demo projects between sites.
Agenda
I suggest we use Christoph's ideal WW Agenda:
Agenda
- 15-20 minutes pre-presentation greeting, chatting and drinking
- Presentations: 5 minutes each. No QA! Max. 12 presentations = 60 min
- Open end: post-presentation Get-Together. You can catch up at the buffet with speakers you are particularly interested in.
Advantages:
- Strict timeline of five minutes for each speaker guarantees that we do not overrun the event.
- No need to listen to QA of a presentation you are not interested in.
- Engage in detailed discussion with speakers you are particularly interested in while enjoying the great buffet and wine!!
- You could run the event in about 3 1/2h and be more efficient.
