I can't find anything on their site about conference, event, or meeting planning. I'll just have to call them.
Caltech (JPL, actually) is where Larry Wall first created Perl. It might or might not help in wooing the Caltech administration, but it could provide a little extra boost to the bid (and ultimately to the conference) if it could be billed as a return to Perl's birthplace.
Liz 4/13/07: I got a message from Caltech. They don't do this sort of thing habitually, but I was urged to jot down our requirements and send them to hdaily@caltech.edu. (Which I just did.)
Liz 4/13/07 update: CALTECH is out. They normally don't host events not directly affiliated with the University, and they could not accommodate us logistically even if they did.
