If you are a developer working on a application that has folks login - this is a morning for you.
Doc Searls: an overview of the identity landscape and talk about why identity matters to developers ../images/wikiwyg_icons/www.gif
Eugene Kim: a detailed outline of the landscape and open source projects in identity development, highlighting technical issues and philosophical issues. Some basic terminology will be covered.
Identity Projects will be highlighted:
Johannes Ernst, CEO of NetMesh : the open-participation YADIS project that brings together three different identity systems: OpenID, LID and i-names (XRI) and makes them interoperable. YADIS enables capabilities discovery, sign-on, profile exchange and many other capabilitites that developers are plugging into the YADIS framework.
David Recordon of Six Apart / LiveJournal / OpenID will add some additional information about OpenID.
John Merrells, CTO of SXIP, will talk about their tools and coming developer kit.
Andy Dale, of OoTao, will talk about the i-names identity service he is building.
Drummond Reed, Cordance and OASIS XRI/XDI TC, will be on hand to answer questions about OASIS XRI, i-names, and i-numbers.
Examples of developer projects using identity will be highlighted.
Mary Hodder will talk about her choice to adopt emerging identity tools available in the application she is developing.
(If you have an example of using an identity system you would like to share,
please add your name and project to this list).
