Agile changes how technology companies operate

Tom Grant of Forrester...

who covers product management and agile transformation at software companies, had a standing-room crowd for this discussion of company-wide adoption of agile. He differentiated between "vanguard" companies that are implementing agile within their Engineering/Development organizations, and "transformation" companies that are expanding this to lots of non-development functions including Marketing, Sales, Support, Professional Services, etc.

He kept us amused with a long-running analogy to Soviet-style top-down 5-year plans as the starting point for an agile revolution.

A PDF of his slide deck is here.
