Plaxo & FOAF
Posted by on May 17 2:34pmWill Plaxo take an open approach with it's end-user personal profile data? In other words - Plaxo is off colelcting all these profiles, do they think they own that data?
Will Plaxo open up it's digital identity records and allow for export (as well as import) of FOAF files? Just wondering....
FOAF sucks, will you get off it already.

RH100 TAKE Contact management programs are
common in most business environments, providing a
link between people and their communications. But
the big shortcoming is their inability to change as
contact information changes. Plaxo’s Internet based
contact infrastructure is designed to do just that:
more easily connect people. Plaxo Contacts works
with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Outlook
Express, providing a way for users to maintain
address books and update them automatically by
sending request emails. The company’s user base is
currently 1 million and growing, thanks to Plaxo’s
claim that most of the stored contact information for
people is out of date or incomplete. And the U.S.
Postal Service says that every year, 37 million families
or individuals and 2.4 million businesses in the
United States move, triggering changes to contact
management systems. Plaxo’s technology and the
large email market makes for great opportunity – the
challenge will be executing its business, building its
marketshare and revenues, and navigating the murky
waters of privacy issues.
